To be more specific, QuickTime will enable users to upload supported video files to YouTube.User will be required to provide user name and password, rest will be done by Apple’s Media player. QuickTime will also be responsible for optimizing file for YouTube, video sharing site and uploading to the respective user account.

Apple rolls out prerelease for iPhone OS and iTunes

Apple is going crazy in terms of releasing betas for the latest OS of iPhone OS 3.0. This time around, Apple has released beta 4 for iPhone OS 3.0. To add more, Apple has also released iTunes version 8.2 to developers.

As one expects, Beta release broughts within it improvements and enhancements. The thing which is new is in the Store feature under the Settings of iPhone OS. The Store feature now displays your account details instead of showing just the Store.

As I write, no changes worth mentioning have been seen with iTunes.  However there are rumors, that the legal section of the software contains references to the emerging Blu-Ray technology, which indicates that this new storage media will be supported in the near future.

Only time will tell how true this rumor is.

Pay $2000 for a MacBook and get a Brick instead!

Ryan, a fellow customer Paid over $2000 for a MacBook through Best Buy and then Recieved a Brick inside the Apple MacBook Box.

Ryan bought a MacBook Pro from Best Buy in Texas. The Retailer has said that it’s not his but Apple’s Mistake. The buyer has not sorted out the matter with either Apple or Best Buy.

He Say’s -

When I got home I opened the box and found a paving stone packed with bubble wrap, instead of the Macbook Pro.

I returned to the store and the manager, “Keith”, was not too willing to help me out. He kept falling back on the line “Apple seals the boxes, not us. Take it up with Apple.”

I have sent an email to Best Buy corporate and have contacted my credit card company. Unfortunately, they can’t do anything until the charge posts.

So right now, I paid $2164.89 for a very nice red brick.

QuickTime player to provide screen recording in Snow Leopard

QuickTime will become much more involved and its feature base will be increased once  Snow Leopard is introduced. I say this, because with the introduction of Snow Leopard, QuickTime will provide screen recording features along side its ability to capture audio and video contents.

The beta users of MAC OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard have previously reported about the existence of such a feature. Although there remains doubt as to this feature is available in the Build 10A335 released on Thursday, but it is confirmed that this feature was not available with the previous builds.

This feature is particularly useful for software developers, educators and e-learners for obvious reasons. This feature will simplify the process of creating video tutorials, software demonstrations if nothing else. It is much better than having to stick with the old still shots.

I think that this is a change many of you will be happy to read about and appreciate.

iPhone OS 3.0 likely to contain Voice recognition and synthesis feature

Sources have mentioned that the next version of iPhone OS i.e iPhone OS 3.0 is expected to have voice recognition and synthesis feature. All the voice related features which are given the codename Jibbler is expected to be made part of the operating system which currently is under development.

Jibbler’s voice recognition feature will take voice as input via iPhone’s microphone or headphones with microphone and Jibbler will interpret it. The Voice synthesis feature seems to be similar to the one which iPod Shuffle offers, however the key point is that the iPhone hardware will be handling this feature by itself.

In addition to that, there are hints that suggest that the voice related features will also be made available in the SDK. The reason as to why this has been said is that they have discovered  classes and methods such as VSSpeechSynthesizer,VSRecognitionSession, SBVoiceControlDisableHandlerActions, and others where VS refers to VoiceServices (possibly)m and SB refers to SpringBoard.

Only time will tell wether the next version of  iPhone operating system will contain these features or not. Lets hope that it does contain these features.
