What the hell is YouTube Doing? : Trying to kill itself?

As many of you might have heard that YouTube will be going throught a redesign which will Change YouTube completely.

YouTube runs at a Bandwidth cost of like 1 Million Dollars per day and every year it only brings a revenuw of only 200 Million Dollars. So now Calculate the Profit, ahh, sorry the loss.

365 Million Dollars – 200 Million Dollars = 165 Million Dollar Loss

So inorder to cover these losses Google will now make YouTube more like Hulu and will Display Content From premium Partners like Disney and therefore it will Put back the User Generated Content for what YouTube was actually meant for. All the User Generated Videos will go into a small Tab called Videos while the premium Partners will take the SpotLight. 

Common no one would like to see the same T.V shows you saw earlier but some more unpopular and interesting videos by other Users

This thought is of a YouTube user and i think i completely Agree with his point. The original Reactions will be coming in Soon from the users after April 16th when the Design Goes live.

Gmail can now find if users are sleeping or are awake!

Gmail Recently Unveiled a new Feature from Gmail Labs. Its a feature which can tell wether a User is awake or sleeping. Gmail Detects the Time Zone from which the email is sent from and then according to that Shows up with the results.

This feature will Greatly help people to connect with other people living in Different Countries. Gmail Make’s use of the Time in the header and so on and then shows a Green Light near the user if he/she is awake or a red light if the the user is Sleeping.

I have 6 Billion Subscribers : How much fake can you be?

Sometimes People can go to Any Extent to make money. Recently while Surfing the internet i found that a Blog called Dean Hunt and it showed that It had 6 Billion FeedBurner Subscribers. I could not stop laughing. Here’s a view of the Feedburner Counter.

The Words Part could be if someone Believes in it. Another Fact is that A Blog like TechCruch does not have more than 300K Subscribers how can this blog have?

One of the features which surely got attention of many was the mobile operating system’s support for themes. I decided to get a look at the themes that it will provide. And wow! The Advantage of having a group blog

Today there are over 110+ Million blogs and growing and i have noticed that there are many Single Bloggers who are giving their best efforts but still it isn’t showing. It consumes much more time and much more effort and the final result is not always what we expect.

So here’s what my idea is -

More Bloggers = More Content = Less Individual Effort = Less Time = Much Better Result

So that’s quite simple. But aha, there are some Rules to be followed. Your blog will only succeed if You have “Talented Writers”.  Getting people to post rubbish won’t help by any means. Also THe content Should be original or else people will not even look at your blog. Another advantage of having a group blog is that The expenses are Divided so not much of Load on each one. When Will My blog get Famous? : Answered

The Question which haunts most of the Bloggers – “When will my blog get famous?”  THe answer is much more simple than it looks. It will get famous only when you will work hard to make it famous.

Every Blog has “The Post”, which is just a single post and makes the Blog famous. So IF it’s tech news what your blogging and if you are able to crack the most unique new and your the first one to post about it you are on the way to success.

Now if you blog about Life and you wrote an excellent post about time Management and few bloggers came accross it like it posted about your blog post, digged it and so on… It’s Famous.

Another thing can happen. You wrote a post about the Craziest Celebrities and people liked it and you blog post appears on the first page of Digg, you are Famous.

Pratically Speaking that “One Post” can change the shape of your blog. If that’s famous obviously other people would love to read more from you so they will browse through your other posts and if it is Good enough they will even subscribe it.

Now if you write like 10-20 such posts then you are a rockstar! Very Simple isn’t it? But then why aren’t all Bloggers Famous? It’s because everyone cannot Post ” The Cracking Post” so if you want to see you have it or not then Go Blog about this post now!

Traditional Advertising : It sucks

Social Media Is Booming out like anything. And at the same time most of the marketers and advertisers are turning towards it to look for profit. But till what extent have they been successful? 

This Market has not been able to bring up Great success. THe tradiotional Methods of PPC (pay per click) or CPM (Cost-per-100-impression) are no more working. Users are not clicking on the ads. So now marketers are rubbing their heads to think of new ways how users could interact with the product. 

FaceBook has its own Advertising Platform and the main loser will be FaceBook if it does not change its way of advertising. Better ways of interactiing would be via mean of Groups, Applications and so on and some of these have been tried and they have Prooved that these methods have brought more success to marketers than the Previous methods. 

Still the search is on for a better alternative. Currently Twitter may also come up with an Ad Program which may be a great success.

Social Networking is on the Rise and sites like Twitter and Facebook are growing at the speed of light. But yes as we know every bit of Good surely has some bad part.

A reasearch Suggests that these social networking website are Increasing the Risk of Cancer. If the question is how, then the answer is this that People nowadays are interacting with other people via the internet and therby reducing offline meetups and so if there is no Offline interacting this may increase the risk of Cancer. This may be shocking for many of the users but yes, this is true.

Yahoo Messenger for iPhone is now Live!

A great new for iPhone users! Yahoo has officially released a Yahoo Messenger for Iphone. But what features are available? Here’s a part from their blog post which will help you leanr more.

 

Instant message: Send text messages back and forth with your friends, including emoticons and web links.

Photo sharing: Take a photo on your iPhone and send that, or grab one from your photo gallery to share.

Stealth settings: Sign in as invisible, or change your status to invisible once you’re in the app.

Custom status message: Enter a custom status message for your friends to see. You can even include a web link with it.

Recent conversations archive: Under Messages, tap a contact and you’ll see your most recent conversation. You can type in a message from there to start chatting again.

Special idle state: If you have to leave the app for whatever reason, like a call comes in or you click a link in an IM that takes you to Safari, the Yahoo! Messenger for iPhone app will keep you signed in but change your status to idle. That way you can continue to receive messages and provided you return to the app within ten minutes, pick up where you left off.

Additional settings: Tap the Settings icon to change the sort order of your contact list, or to show or hide offline contacts in your list.
