700,000 Palm pre apps downloaded till now!

Well, the Palm Pre does not have 50,000 apps like the iPhone but yes, it does have many.  666,511 (It’s a nice Figure for now atleast)  App’s were downloaded as of 17th July and by now it must have reached 700,000 App downloads. The number has been increasing as more and more apps are added.

As you can see in the Graph Above there hasn’t been a drop in it but then it is too early for us to Judge it and compare it with the iPhone after iPhone apps just crossed a Billion Mark sometime back.

Facebook releases its Persian version

Every one is quite familiar with the ongoing situation in Iran so are the tech companies. Tech companies have identifed this situation as an opportunity to gain the goodwill of Iran people by launching products in the native language of Iranian to help them communicate. On similar lines Facebook has launched its site in Persian language. Facebook casted a vote of thanks for all those who helped them in achieving this milestone. They stated:

We could not have made this happen so quickly without the more than 400 Persian speakers who submitted thousands of individual translations of the site. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. If you speak Persian or any language not yet completely translated, you can help as well by using the Translations application.

Asus and Disney join hands to bring Kid friendly netbook

The word Netbook is quite a hot term these days. But the news which I am going to share with you in this post is even hotter. Asus and Disney have come to a partnership agreement where Asus and Disney will be combining their computer and cartoon expertises respectively to build a Netbook called the Netpal. The Netpal will be available in July. The specifications worth mentioning are:

  • 1 GB RAM
  • Windows XP Home Edition
  • 1.6 GHZ Intel N270 processor
  • 8.9 inch display screen
  • 0.3 Megapixel camera

Where Did Microsoft hide $10K and why can’t i find it using safari?

Microsoft has always tried various new ways to increase more users for their latest release , Internet Explorer 8.0  Currently Microsoft has launched a campaign called TenGrandIsBuriedHere. Well, this does seem funny to me but not to Microsoft.

In this Huge WWW, Microsoft has hid 10K Dollars on a certain webpage, and the twist is that you need to download I.E 8.0 to find the Prize. Well The website showed me a message -

But You’ll never find it using the Boring Safari (So get rid of it or Get lost)

The last few words seem to be too rude and aim directly at Mac because  there isn’t a mac version of I E 8 so, according to them you need to “Get Lost”

The Campaign has been launched in Australia. Users can look for hints for the challenge by following their twitter account @tengrand_ie8

Sometime’s a 160 charachter bio isn’t enough to explain your twitter profile. So what next? Now comes a service which allows you to find Psychological Details about a particular twitter account.

TweetPsych is a service that tells everything more you need to know about a twitter account. These include information like things you talk about the most and even scores you on your social behavior.tweetpsych

TweetPsych uses two linguistic analysis algorithms (RID and LIWC) to build a psychological profile of a person based on the content of their tweets. The service analyzes your last 1000 tweets and works best on users who have posted more than 1000 updates. It also works best on accounts that are operated by a single user and use Twitter in a conversational manner, rather than simply a content distribution platform.

Download mp3 songs directly from YouTube Videos

In this one Week i received many requests asking, how can we download a song in mp3 format or any of theses – wav, wmv, avi, mov. I tried to find out ways and here’s What i Found.

  • You can convert the video online and download it to your computer in your desired format. All you need to do is just copy the url of the video like – “youtube.com/?watch=ojahdfui2ijhijw” and then paste it on to the Conversion bar at YoutubetoMp3.net. You can find many websites like this on the web, just Google “convert youtube video to mp3“. But i prefer the website mentioned above.
  • Another Way of downloading Youtube Videos as songs would be Getting a software called “Get-Tube” for Mac. To run this software you need to first Download it and then after installing just open your Browser i.e Safari or FireFox (These 2 browsers are only supported) and then go to the url of your Video. After that just launch the Application gettube and wait for the application to Recognize your Url and start downloading it :)

For those Who directly want to download youtube videos to your computer just go to KissYoutube.com and download your Youtube video to your desktop from there.

Apple finally rolls out Safari 4

During the highly anticipated WWDC 09, Apple announced as expected that they have finalized and released Safari 4. Safari contains support for HTML 5 and advanced CSS effects. Besides that, Safari happens to be the first browser to pass the Web Standards Project’s Acid3 test. It also comprises of a speed boosting feature known as Nitro Engine.  The latest browser from Apple is availabe as a free download for both MAC and PC users. You can download it from here
