Is the Internet eating us? Social Media, Free Information and so on : The truth revealed!

It’s not been a century since Internet has been made popular. It’s not even a half century. Most of it has just happened in over a decade. But like we say every coin has two sides this one surely has. The Good side is nothing much to debate over but the bad thing is. Let’s see how it’s affecting us!

  • Let me just ask you a simple question, how many hours do you spend on your computer surfing the internet? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, hours? Well a research conducted shows that people use internet for atleast 3-4 hours a day, Via mobile, computers and so on.. Now back to Calculations, on an average if you live 100 years then every day has 24 hours and 100 years will have 36500 days.

24 X 36500 =  876 000

Now if we calculate how many hours on an average we will spend on internet then ..

3 X 36 500 = 109 500

So again you calculate then time left is ..

876 000 – 109 500 = 766 500

So all you have is 87.5% life left with you out of which you spent over 50% while eating, sleeping and other day to day activities.

So you really know internet’s eating a lot of your time!

  • Now getting on to Social Media. 40% of internet users are mostly people who are engaged in Social Media. You know, when your personal life is exposed to everyone, you never know who’s reading it! That’s the biggest disadvantage. With Twitter and FaceBook and on the Rise everything is online, Your personal Photo’s latest updates as to what your doing that instant, your caste, interests…. Now if someone plays with this information it could cost you a lot.And this has been on the rise and activities like Cyber Bullying rising the situations got even more bad. So many people have commited suicides due to such things. One Mistake and your online identity is over, and yes it’s that delicate.
Not just that, but too much of Social media has been responsible for bringing down students GPU and if your not aware then Sites like Facebook can cause cancer too!
  • Now comes Brand Management. Getting a bad reputation is as easy as to just do nothing. Yes, handling the brands online identity is a very difficult task. One mistake and it’s all over. The speed at which information travels is 3 X 108
M/S2 ! So you really know if any thing happens the whole thing reaches home even before you reach!
  • Free Information is the biggest advantage of Internet. But yes, it’s the Biggest disadvantage too! Information is good till it is put at Good use. The if goes in wrong hands then it may result what you might have never thought about. Like in the recent terrorists attacks at Mumbai, the use of Google Map’s Technology was to it’s extent to extract every damn possible information. So Free information does have may drawbacks!
  • Anonymity is what internet provides. You never know whose the person next to his screen with whom you are chatting. With this comes in Internet Fraud and Cyber Crime. It’s very difficult to track the criminals. Paypal fraud are most common these days. I get like a thousand mails asking me to submit my Paypal password! I don’t think there would even one in thousand who would actually reply to such mails but then, people do click! :P lol!
  • A general point is that Internet Makes us lazy. Yes, If someone’s giving you cooked food you’ll obviously eat it, and not sit to prepare the whole thing! You need to make a project, you’ll obviously search the internet rather than going to a library and sit to find books!

Now the question, What do you think? Will you decrease you internet usage time? Please discuss in the comments!

Tsera going to sure nearly every damn company on Earth which has a touchpad

I think this is going to be very interesting. Tsera claims that it owns the Touchpad and is all set to sue companies like Apple, Microsoft, LG, Philips, Bang & Olufsen, iriver, Coby, Cowon for copying its technology.

The Patent has been named “Methods and apparatus for controlling a portable electronic device using a touchpad”. Well it’s practically impossible for Tsera to sue each and every company so it’s pretty obvious that this case won’t be solved in the court atleast.

Tsera said that other companies failed to pay money for using it’s technology. Well let’s see what happens!

Apple’s iTunes Broke my heart : Palm Pre

Yes, Apple broke Palm Pre’s Heart…. with the latest iTunes update, it’s all over for Palm Users. Palm Pre had dashed into the market being know for it’s Syncing with Apple’s Itunes.

Now what? Now, Apple released it’s latest iTunes update 8.2.1 which breaks the syncing feature. So for Palm Pre users it’s a bye-bye to iTunes. But why did Apple do it? There might be many reasons affecting this. First would we the ever growing competition between Apple’s iPhone and Palm’s Pre. This would surely affect Palm’s sales.

What was stated in Apple’s Itunes Update Docs was quite expected.

iTunes 8.2.1 provides a number of important bug fixes and addresses an issue with verification of Apple Devices.

Although users can Transfer media through the Old way, copy paste to the mass storage device.  But what’s next? We’ve not heard from Palm yet and are waiting for their reply. Apple gave it’s answer and now all Palm users are surprised.

Tip: Don’t update to 8.2.1 version of iTunes or else your syncing feature will vanish away. Let’s wait for more solutions later! Also if you have already downloaded the update and now unhappy, then head on to download the older version of Apple’s Itunes (8.2) here.
