Why most bloggers fail and why thats good for you

Last time i went to a social meetup. When i asked people i met, what they did about 80% of said that they were bloggers. Now i next time i meet anyone i would clear it up, please don’t give me shit that your a blogger.

Today, from Top Ceo’s to 9 Year old kids, all are bloggers. These days a lot of guys come online thinking that by starting a blog they will be able to generate as much money that would help them to live the rest of their life without working anywhere else. What a Big #fail idea.

I had local newspapers who guaranteed authors to earn three digit US Dollar online working only 2 hours a day. When i tried to contact one of these guys to find out what it was, they said they would set up a wordpress blog for me and set up adsense account. Then they would fill it up with some shitty starting content and i would have to keep on adding to it and then finally if someday it would ever start making money, they would take 50% of the profit share. Seriously man, what is this?

Blogspot revolution again gave this another boost, and since anyone here can make a blog for free and get a adsense, adbrite or widgetbucks ad for free there they go. Millions of blogs are present today. If i was to talk about the 20:80 rule, it applies here. 20% of the blogs rule serve 80% of the blog readers.

I found something very funny about the current state of Blogosphere. I found so many blogs who treated blogs as posts. 1 post per blog. For every new post they created new blogs! Now I know why so many blogs exist.

The fact is that if you don’t get serious about posting content, your blog won’t reach heights. Another thing that i have noticed is that most bloggers aren’t focused on topics. One day you post about Obama and next day about hacking into a WiFi network, who is going to read your blog?

The best thing you get out from all the failures is that you get patterns of failure. As it is said, When Edision failed 999 times, he had 999 new ways how not to succeed which helped him get that final one attempt which got him the light bulb.

So bloggers pull up your socks for 2010 and get ready for a energy packed year ahead :D

5 Awesome Google Chrome Extensions for someone who runs a business

Google Chrome is one of the browsers that gave a new meaning to the words “Web Browser”.   At first people thought that Google Chrome was just another browser. But after some with its amazing features and extensions it has proven that it is not simply “just” another browser.

A lot of users still use Firefox because of the enormous collection of add-ons that could be used with it. Now Google Chrome users can have extensions with it and it is not a mistake when I say that Google Chrome has also got a large collection of good quality extensions built for it. Extensions or add-ons play a very vital part in a browser. It gives further ability and power to the browser and also allows its user to modify some of the aspects of the browser to their desires.

Today I would like to shed some light on 5 great extensions for businessmen or for a man with a busy schedule and lots of clients. These extensions are sure to make their life easier while on the internet.

1.  Gmail Checker

This tool will show if you have any unread emails in your inbox. It is a handy tool because when you have this extension you won’t have to go to gmail.com and check if you have any new mail.

2. Google Tasks

With a busy schedule it would be difficult to manage all the tasks you have to do every day. With this extension you can make a list of the tasks you have to do for the day and complete it.

3. Bubble Translate

This tool allows translating text and full websites.  It will be easier to get information or check a client’s website which is in another language with this tool.

4. AdBlock+

When you are browsing the internet and while surfing for information over the internet, it would be really annoying to have popups and advertisements popup in front of you every time you click a link. With this tool you can block those advertisements and popups and find the information you need faster.

5. Chrome Currency Converter

When buying things and selling online it is really frustrating to convert every single pricing to another currency and the worst part is it takes a lot of time from your busy schedule. This extension converts all the currencies in a site to a desired currency of the user. And it comes with a mini converter.

Watch 3 Idiots legally on Youtube : Google getting into Pay-Per-View Business?

3 Idiots was a brilliant movie. If you have seen the movie then you would surely not forget that Google’s and Youtube’s logo were present during the start of the movie as Sponsors.

If you really don’t know why, then here is the reason. Vidhu Chopra, the producer of the movie in an interview said that users will be able to watch 3 Idiots legally on YouTube after 12 weeks from then.

Yes, you read it right. It said “Legally”. This is first ever attempt by a Indian Movie to offer legal movie views and downloads over YouTube. The producer said that this movie would be released on YouTube for those people who can’t afford to watch it in the Multiplexes.

For about $1 you get pirated discs of the movie too, so in an attempt to stop piracy this could also prove a massive step in eradicating it though, most of India’s traffic is Cyber Cafe traffic we are curious to find out the results as to how well this has worked out!

But the question is that will the movie be available for free or will it be paid? Also, since the producer in the interview mentioned that it’s for people who can’t afford MultiPlexes so will it be available to selective people after applying?

Nexus One Pricing Plans, T-Mobile Contract and lot more leaked!

Gizmodo and Engadget got hands on the leaked documents which show the Google Phone’s AKA Nexus One’s landing webpages.

So here’s what is reveals. Nexus One will be available at a price of $530 (unlocked and unsubsidized) and at a price of $179 with a T-Mobile contract which would cost about $79 which would include 500 minutes of talk time, unlimited text, data, and mobile to mobile.

If you try to cancel your contract before 120 days, you have to pay $350 to T-Mobile or you have another choice of giving back the phone to Google (Smart?). Personalization is one of the offerings which allow you to engrave two lines of text behind your phone (Exactly like what Apple does).

Also, you can’t add it to your existing T-Mobile plan and you need to go for a separate Nexus One plan. You can buy this Phone only via the web and 5 Mobile phones can be bought from one account.

Engadget also managed to get Terms of Sale in the PDF form, which you can download.

Windows Mobile + Xbox Live : Gaming platform for Windows Mobile?

Microsoft is expanding it’s Xbox live gaming platform to much more then just consoles, but to Windows Mobiles too.

Recently job postings prove it. One of them said,

We need a Principle Program Manager who can help drive the platform and bring Xbox LIVE enabled games to Windows Mobile.

Now thats for sure that, someday, Microsoft is going to come out with this soon. We are currently don’t know what  is it exactly about but here’s another piece of job posting which might clear somethings out.

This person will focus specifically on what makes gaming experiences “LIVE Enabled” through aspects such as avatar integration, social interactions, and multi-screen experiences.

Google has called all its press mates to gather at their California office on 5th January , 2010 for a press conference and discussion.

Please join us in Mountain View on January 5, for an Android press gathering.

See, it didn’t take a lot of time to join the dots. Google is doing it Apple style, ha? This could be the public announcement of Nexus One features and specs, which were already leaked out by Engadget.

Nokia is suing Apple over every damn product which include iPhone, iPods and Macs!

Its a rule of the game.

When you can’t defeat, you sue

Nokia’s playing the game right. Obviously, the whole Nokia range failed to compete with the iPhone (atleast in the US) so there they go.

Nokia has filed a complaint against Apple with U.S International Trade Comission, claiming that iPod creator has infringed their patents in nearly all the devices they have created, cell phones, music players and computers. Nokia stated that Apple has picked up on UI (User Interface) designs, camera technology, power management and antenna (What?) to create “key” features in their products.

Paul Melin, General Manager of Patent licensing at Nokia said, “This action is about protecting the results of such pioneering development….The ITC case filed today is about Apple’s practice of building its business on Nokia’s proprietary innovation”. Check out Nokia’s Press Release for more detailed stuff.

For a common user all this seems like some crappy stuff, but for these brands it could have cost them billions of dollars. Apple is the most unique company i have ever come across and so i am waiting for these guys to answer Nokia. Will keep you guys updated!

Mac’rs Mac it up! : I’m on a Mac

Apple Fanboys once again make a comeback with the Rap Video, which is aimed at ripping off Microsoft (particularly Windows). Why the hell is everyone always comparing both these OS’s?

I am not sure if many of you know about this, but this campaign is run by Parallel, yea the software for Mac to run Windows on it virtually.

Video after break. BTW this video contains explicit language so kids, beware.
