Feel Windows Phone 7 on your iPhone!

This is the best part of having an iPhone. You can taste interfaces of several OS’s together without even needing to change your device. All you need to do is download some apps and your on it!

For Palm Pre like app switching, we had Pro Switcher. They actually ran Android on iPhone 2G too and amidst all this if you missed Windows Phone 7, then it’s here!

We’ve got a Windows Phone 7 theme released in Polish language (unluckily no English) at Deviantart.com (Direct Download Link – 11 mb). The theme resembles a lot of the actual OS save a few features which can only be possible on the actual Windows device. No Doubt the theme is worth it!

The theme comes with a little bit of text to read to install the theme and have it working flawlessly,

Steve Jobs says “Nope” to Mac App Store

In near recentness, there were some rumors surfacing regarding the possibility of huge changes to Mac OS (which I think are surely going to happen) and there was one specific rumor which caught the attention of potential developers and readers. It was the coming of a App Store for Apple’s Mac OS.

The rumor was that Macintosh would get a App Store bearing resemblance to the current App Store for the iPhone. This did shake a lot of developers because this would block developer’s freedom and all applications would have to be approved by Apple first inorder to start working on the Mac.

For developers, the rumors’s aren’t true. Guess who said it? Steve Jobs himself while replying to a mail. Lame question you think? Why would steve even bother to answer? Well, that’s pretty counterfactual. It indeed was a extremely important because it is a direct hit upon the future of Mac OS and if the rumors weren’t spilled away then it could damage the intentions of developers to keep working on Mac Apps.

Facebook’s Mission to take Over the Web : Battle Begins

It’s been roughly three years or so since the word, Social Networking / Social Media / or whatever the newspaper journalists call it, has come into existence.  Market penetration is sky-high, social networks are cashing millions of dollars and advertising culture has been altered. This has made a huge impact on how corporate brands plan their advertising budgets. What are they all looking for?

Users. People. You.

It’s quite obvious, every bit of code written on Facebook is written with the intention of making a difference as to how you play yourself online or network or share stuff. Everything is targeted towards you. This means you are their biggest priority and you make them work. Simple isn’t it? Nah, not that it’s rocket science but lot of corporate boardroom stuff goes into setting a whole thing like this to work and keep more than 400 Million people connected. Let’s get to the point. What will all this result in? Web going social. A hell lot more. Facebook’s got plan to take over the whole web. If you thought Facebook’s got a brawl with Twitter, think again. It’s no more Facebook Vs. Twitter, it’s Facebook Vs. Google. Here are Facebook’s plan why they will make you reconsider your thought.

Facebook Connect : Facebook everywhere!

Facebook.com isn’t just exploding over but it’s getting everywhere. Like a injection, the rest of the web is getting successive doses. About 80,000 websites use Facebook connect to import users from facebook to their service which include services like Digg and soon, Yahoo! too. This means facebook is in charge of users not only on it’s own platform but everywhere else too. Google also has something like Facebook connect but it sucks compared to the popular facebook buddy.

Hang in there Baby!

If you thought Facebook Connect was the biggest invasion into the the huge web itself then here’s some time to alter your thoughts again. Facebook has got another master plan. It’s planning to take over that little strip of real estate in your browser bottom most with a toolbar. That means Facebook everywhere, yes, everywhere!

Like This, Share That.

The “share” and “like” buttons you might be familiar with, will now be available all over the web. Yes, all across the web just like and share any webpage, link, object you like! Facebook now wants to control everything you read and share with your friends.

Geolocation Tagging

With what people do, where they do it is also important as social networks are increasingly growing location aware, especially with the entrance of augmented reality applications. Recently, Twitter added location tagging tweets too and then, there is foursquare, a whole network setup for the location purpose. Facebook will then not only control what you do and share, but also where you do it and how. Now this sounds fun!

The invasion has begun!

Note : As you see above, the invasion has already begun and facebook has started taking the first steps!

The new iPhone 4G : Dragged into the Wild, red hot from the factory

For all those people who expected about a dozen posts conveying how the latest iPhone 4G would look, guys here’s the real deal. The iPhone 4G itself and it’s very difficult to say it’s not made by the Cupertino’s notorious company because we’ve got enough evidence to turn your mind. (Thanks Gizmodo)

Let’s talk about the iPhone 4G, in depth.

Design

The new iPhone design isn’t revolutionary or something like that, but Apple has kept it simple but it still scores as  you couldn’t have expected anymore simplicity with all sorts of complex features wrapped inside. They’ve got a front facing camera too!

The round back (which i hated) is no more. It’s all flat like a football field now. If you’ve used a iPhone you would be familiar to the globular style shaping on the edges but the new iPhone has lost it and replaced is replaced with flat lining with metallic finish.

The Back is still plastic or glass, quite obvious because they could have used aluminium but it would have costed the iPhone reception problems which is basically the priority in mobile devices though they have used it in the borders.

All buttons except the home button have now been reformed to match the borders and have turned metallic. The symbolic joint volume switches are now separate (the ought to be, it’s a selecting the correct button and pressing it).

Lastly, this iPhone completes the complete Mac Family, it suits the rest of the products by Apple especially the iPad, MacBook and the iMac. The squared of feel also makes it look more elite compared to previous versions. Overall it is a game changer indeed.

Hardware

Geeks, gather round here. The new iPhone has a new standardization and is also a proof the genuinity of the the product. The components are so Apple-ish it is very difficult to deny that it could be a fake tip.

The Phone’s dimensions – 4.50 by 2.31 by 0.37 inches. The battery is larger than the 3GS battery, they managed to fit this in by minimizing the rest of the components inside. I’ll recall the mentioning the front facing camera, it’s up right next to the top speaker on the phone.

Folks over at Gizmodo claim the new iPhone to have a higher resolution than the previous generations. It uses a micro sim, yes the one that’s in iPad.

Talking about the camera, it camera’s lens is probably larger than the current iPhone and is now supported with Flash too!

Finally.

That’s all what we know about the new iPhone 4G though we could not have the feel of the phone running as Giz couldn’t pass through the Connect to Itunes image as the OS for the new unreleased iPhone isn’t obviously available.

For all those still tinkering how did Gizmodo get hands on the new iPhone, here’s the story.

You are looking at Apple’s next iPhone. It was found lost in a bar in Redwood City, camouflaged to look like an iPhone 3GS. We got it. We disassembled it

It surely is a much better improved version compared to the older version, and it’s transparently visible with the classic appearance of the device.

iPhone 4G to be released this June : AT&T sources say so

Latest Speculation is that the next iPhone will be released sometime before July.

iPhone 4G

Why, you ask. Here’s a simple reason to digest the fact – AT&T has blocked all vacation leaves for the employees during the month of  June. AT&T did the same last year when Apple took over the world with the fastest iPhone till date, the 3GS. One fact still isn’t clear, will AT&T still be the exclusive partner for releasing iPhone in the US or will it lose to Verizon?

Microsoft : Kin is the new Kid

Microsoft’s latest shot on cellphones, the Kin One and Two. These phones are targeted to those social networking savvy kids, who don’t spend an hour without updating their Facebook or Twitter status (includes me, sort of).

First let’s talk about the hardware which has been prepared by SHARP. Kin One is a compact slider which has a 5 MegaPixel camera with LED flash, shoots SD video, Mono Speaker, Slide out compact keyboard, Multitouch, 4 GB inbuilt memory. Kin Two is slightly larger in size than Kin One but resembles most of it, it’s equipped with a 8 megapixel camera with LED Flash, shoots HD video, Stereo Speaker, a slide out keyboard (can be used  for two handed texting) and it’s got 8 GB of inbuilt memory. Wifi, Bluetooth and 3G cellular radios come packed with the Phone.

The hardware is not of much talk over here because the main game changer is the software. Both the phones are Windows Phones, and are based on the Windows Phone 7 core but the most striking thing here is how it has been modified. You might find traces of the OS on the Kin’s in Zune too. The Kin’s are packed with three prominent features which will surely excite a lot of Social Media crazy teens, Kin Spot, Kin Loop and Kin Studio.

Kin Spot is a dot in the lower portion of the screen. You go to any web page, or check any photo or video, maps, statuses, contacts or anything. Just drag it into the Spot, and the spot will do the work of sharing it with your friends. Just drag it and drop it in the spot, then select the method to share – MMS or Email. Done! Quickest way to get share the stuff you want to.

This is something that resembles the Moto-Blur feature, Kin Loop drags all the content from your friends timeline from Facebook. Myspace, Windows Live and all other social networks into one single stream. You can make a favorites too to stay updated with what your favorites are doing. The Interface resembles a lot of Zune.

The stupendous feature that could be a major factor for Kin’s sale could be Kin Studio. All content on the phone can be synced with the cloud, all photos, videos, contacts, messages are crazily connected to the cloud. It’s like your phone’s online version which can be accessed from any browser and the online interface seriously rocks! You have a whole timeline of your phone online and you can scroll across the timeline to see your phone’s content exactly how it was on the selected date.

The Media player is zune powered, and so you can easily sync your library on your Windows with your Phone. Along with that we have also been promised that there will be a Mac Compatible software out too soon which will allow you to access and sync your iTunes library. The devices also support over the air updates for firmware like most other devices these days. The Worse part, no support for third party apps.

The thing to love about the device is the cloud storage. You don’t need to worry about storage on your cellphone because whatever you do, goes to the cloud which with the vast storage is a true game changer. Also the stylish interface for accessing the data is just ne plus ultra.

The devices will be available in May in US with Verizon and in UK with Vodafone. Regarding the pricing, we would be disappointed if they are priced above $150.

Our Take on the iPad

Did you get one? I did. Sadly, I will have to wait until late April to get my hands on it.

Everytime I hear or read someone talking about it, they mention “It’s just a big iPod touch”. The iPad is so much more then that. For example, lots of websites are now supporting HTML5 because of the iPad. The screen brings tons of possibilities with it. There is so much more space and power inside and out, developers and build more in-depth applications. A large amount of devs and designers are actually redesigning, coding, and re-submitting their apps for it, not just allowing it to double the size of the app. If you have checked out iTunes recently you can see all the beautiful new apps and the high price tags.

The iPad is a money bag. I have been scouting out apps I will buy when mine comes, and the total is well over $100. Since most of the popular apps like twitterific, Real Racing HD, and Things were built pretty much from the ground up, they are charging more then double compared to the iPhone versions. Things, by the development company Cultured Code, will be priced at $19.99, double the $9.99 for the iPhone version.

Editors Note : The App Store pricing has changed strikingly, but we see no clear reason for this. The app developers and the customers get the advantage of a larger screen but the development process is much similar to the iPhone and we think the prices shall be the same as the iPhone apps, but indeed the iPad is good business for Apple, whatever you say. From the product to the maintenance, accessories and the apps, its raining money for Apple.

Apple Store Currently down : Smells of updated MacBook pro’s

Currently Apple’s Online store is down and speculations start right away. The most obvious among them is the MacBook Pro refresh because the rumor has been around almost for about a week.

Apple Insider has been told that the refresh will add a 4GB of RAM to the MacBook Pro models , which include 2.4GHz and 2.66GHz 13-inch models, 2.4GHz, 2.55GHz and 2.66GHz 15-inch models, and a 2.53GHz 17-inch model. It’s also being said that models might have a 512 gigs Flash Storage.

Not to forget, the MacBook Pro’s will have three type of screen modifications available, Glossy, High Resolution Glossy and High Resolution Glossy with Anti Glare.

Surprisingly Opera Mini now on the App Store

We had rumors of Opera Mini landing up on the App Store and then confirmations too. The biggest question was, will Apple ever approve a app which would give direct competition to the default web browser that comes loaded with the device, Safari?

The terms and conditions also favored the chances of the Opera app being dropped from the app store but surprisingly, it’s there to make web browsing faster six times compared to the primeval browsing app on the iPhone.

The Data Compression technologies compress data by upto 90% and this speeds up the time taken to render each page.

“We are delighted to offer iPhone and iPod touch users a great browsing experience with the Opera Mini App,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “This app is another step toward Opera’s goal of bringing the Web to more people in more places.”

For Opera it’s celebration time as they get to serve a huge audience which were eagerly awaiting a product to rejuvenate their current browser but the only confounding thing over here is that, do Apple’s term only apply to competitive brands only and not others? Reason for making the statement is lucid, Apple states in it’s policies that Apps which duplicate any existing iPhone function will not be approved but what you see here is contrasting.
