Firefox brings a new evolution to Tabbed Browsing

Firefox’s creative lead Aza Raskin presented today a cool new concept which could revolutionize the way we browse. The early project called Tab Candy makes tabbed browsing less cluttered and more organized by grouping tabs together.

If you’re one of those people who works with a dozen of tabs open yet finds it a quite a hassle to manage them, this new project might be a life saver for you.Just push a button and an overview of all tabs will show up just like expose in Mac.Then you can group your tabs to organize your work-flow.The tabs could also be categorized according to their context to simplify browsing experience which is explained at great length in the video below.

An Introduction to Firefox’s Tab Candy from Aza Raskin on Vimeo.

Firefox tab candy is not an extension,it will be a built in feature in future Firefox builds. To try out this great new concept head over to this link and download an early build of Firefox with Tab Candy built in.

Google Chrome’s the pirate now : Ready to raid IE and Firefox

It won’t be right to call Google just “lucky”, because wherever they step in they rule the market. This is functional with the browsers too, and now Google Chrome has a market share 6.73%. It’s not a huge number but the dazzling part stays that Chrome is the youngest browser of all and it’s also ahead of Safari, Apple’s Native browser for Mac’s with 3% more.

The adoption rate has been rapid, in about 18 months they had some millions of users. Thanks to Google and it’s delicious marketing campaigns and also, the product itself. Chrome is indeed the fastest browsers on earth and if you’ve seen those speed test ads, you probably know Chrome loads about 2700 frames a second.

I’ve shifted to Chrome few months back, and ever since and I never looked back or needed any other browser. It’s fast, fun and looks great. That’s not just me but a large number of Chrome user base that says and numbers are going to add up to the base soon as Firefox and IE users are migrating to Chrome at a perplexing rate.

Breaking : Mozilla (Firefox?) app for iPhone to come up within few weeks

ff_on_iphoneAre you bored with Safari on your iPhone? Want a Change? Perhaps new broswer or new features?? In  the coming weeks, you might be able to get your hands on the Mozilla (Maybe Firefox) app for iPhone!

Om Malik when interviewing the CEO of Mozilla found out that, a iPhone app for Mozilla may be on it’s way to the App store soon!

Another interesting aspect of it would be the weave feature. It’s like typing the URL in the address bar and getting all the browser history from all the devices and if this is not enough, you can save your browser preferences on Mozilla’s server so that you can access them form any device easily.

When Om asked them about this feature being integrated with the iPhone app, they remained silent but you see, silence answers lots of questions ;)

But what will happen, if Apple just decides to not, approve the app? Everything’s crushed :( and history would be repeating itself just like what happened with Google Voice, but yeah it did come up back with a Online version of the app though.

Also : Do read the comment by Sebastien below which clears out many things.

Update : There is some confusion, as to if the app is a browser or not. Currently we cannot confirm, anything, but will keep you posted as soon as we receive information.

Mozilla Firefox is soon going to reach 1 Billion downloads!

Firefox Mozilla is soon going to reach 1 Billion downloads!  According to the Firefox Download Guesstimator, it’s going to hit the number, 100,000,000

Well Firefox 3.5 was downloaded more than 4 Million times after the release within 24 hours!! Beat that Internet Explorer! Firefox 3.0 also has a World record for the most downloaded browser in a day too!

Well Mozilla is making up new stats! It seems to have taken up atleast 30% of Market Share and the Market share of IE6 has dropped to 60%!! Go FireFox, Go!

I think this may have increased due to those Die IE8 campaigns. It’s obvious when one browser goes, obviously someone else will have to come to replace it and i think Firefox is capable of replacing Internet Explorer 6, anytime.

Most Sites have also dropped support for IE6 and are asking users to shift to Firefox which again gives a boost to FireFox + the GreaseMonkey script which allows users to edit webpages as to their viewing has made it very popular within the webmasters.
