Where Did Microsoft hide $10K and why can’t i find it using safari?

Microsoft has always tried various new ways to increase more users for their latest release , Internet Explorer 8.0  Currently Microsoft has launched a campaign called TenGrandIsBuriedHere. Well, this does seem funny to me but not to Microsoft.

In this Huge WWW, Microsoft has hid 10K Dollars on a certain webpage, and the twist is that you need to download I.E 8.0 to find the Prize. Well The website showed me a message -

But You’ll never find it using the Boring Safari (So get rid of it or Get lost)

The last few words seem to be too rude and aim directly at Mac because  there isn’t a mac version of I E 8 so, according to them you need to “Get Lost”

The Campaign has been launched in Australia. Users can look for hints for the challenge by following their twitter account @tengrand_ie8

Acer’s Android NoteBook did not throw Windows yet

Acer, who will be releasing a Android Powered NoteBook, Recently Confirmed that Along with Android which can fulfill all the needs for a Internet User, will also Include Windows Xp in it’s version.

This will help Acer Stay in the Market Because Android cannot Complete all needs of a computer user as compared to WIndows Xp. And after all a $20 would go heavy on Acer.

Why Bing’s image search is superior to Google’s service : Feature by Feature

Bing has created a lot of hype in the Blogosphere. I am not adding to it’s hype but i am just highlighting one simple feature which while give you a reason to make a shift from Google to Bing.

Bing Image Search

Bing Image Search

Google’s image search is one of the most famous and oldest image search engines. But now Microsoft’s Bing come’s to Wack off Google search with it’s superior features.

Bing Provides users to select image size including wallpapers
which Google does not provide. Along with that Bing also provides users to select the type of layout like Square, wide or tall which seems to be missing in Google.

Bing Search Features

Now coming to other features it’s the Style Tab where users can select wether they want a Photograph or a Illustration :) This features a very useful one for students!

And last one is The People tab where you can select if Bing should show Faces, or head and shoulders. Now Google Really needs to work on it’s Image search to provide more features or else Bing is going to take it away!

Microsoft Gears up to kick off Google with Bing!

Recently we had posted about Microsoft planning for a 100 million dollar campaign for it’s brand new search engine, Bing.

Bing, as it’s name says – “Because It’s Not Google”. Bing comes geared up with features which Google was not able to provide users with. In one of the Offer’s Microsoft will pay it’s searchers for buying products via Bing. Another great feature is the Airline fare calculator which make’s it easy for people to find when the air fares will remain low.

Bing, has given a reason to all the Googler’s why they should shift to Bing and it’s Simplicity. Bing is a search engine which provide very organized search results.

Telling you we found 47 million links isn’t always a great response to your query

Bing will get more targeted results for users and help them save time and along with that they will be able to gain much more than just information but knowledge too via Maps and many other interactive modes. For People who shop online Bing will be the best place to look out for goods because Bing will provide searchers with complete products reviews, Ratings and will help you compare prices easily.

For Restaurant goers, Bing is for you. Just type type of restaurant, for example “French Restaurants”, Bing will quickly give you the location, reviews of the restaurants and so on.

Bing will be released on June 3rd. Till then you can go and check out their website on DiscoverBing.com.

Is $80 Million Enough for a Microsoft Ad Campaign?

Microsoft has planned a Ad Campaign ranging between 80 Million Dollars to 100 Million Dollars. Now if you are thinking this campaign is for Windows, then this time you are wrong, It’s Bing, Microsoft’s Search engine with which Microsoft hopes to compete with Google.

In a Discussion with Various Experts most of them said that advertising wouldn’t help Bing to get loyal users. Pre-iPhone, People were unaware of those Multi Touch screens, those applications but advertising with focus on these new features made the ad campaign and the product a success and Microsoft also aims to have such an effect by giving users a reason to shift from Other search engine to theirs.

Till now, Not any campaign of this magnitude has hit Google so predicting it’s success or failure now would not be of any use.

Attackers building botnet via pirated Windows 7 RC

Attackers are busy in building botnet with the help of pirated Windows 7 RC containing malware. As Eweek reports, researchers at Damballa got their hands on a trojan that was hidden inside pirated copies of Windows 7 RC and was distributed to P2P sites. Damballa was able to shut down the botnet’s command and control server successfully on May 10. However by that time, damage was already done and infection rates rose high at about 552 computers per hour.

Trojan did its dirty part by attempting to install malware on the infected machine. According to Damballa

We continue to see new installs happening at a rate of about 1,600 per day with broad geographic distribution. Since our takedown, any new installs of this pirated distribution of Windows 7 RC are inaccessible by the botmaster. The old installs are accessible. The countries with the largest percentage of installs are the U.S. (10 percent), Netherlands (7 percent) and Italy (7 percent).

So all those who have downloaded the Windows 7 RC from P2P sites, please consider downloading from Microsoft.
