Breaking : Google Pagerank update is in Progress! Good or Bad for webmasters?

Seems like Googles Pagerank update is in progress (Thanks Binoy who pinged me on Gtalk with this news, showing that his blog showed a change in Google Pagerank!).

Google updates it’s pagerank quite often, but according Google’s Marissa Mayer google has 2 Pageranks. First one is Internal which updates on Daily Basis while the second is External, the one you see on Toolbars and pagerank checkers. But, as few sources claim mostly Internal pagerank is taken into consideration for various purposes.

Frankly Speaking, i have had experiences when websites with pagerank 0 have got onto the first page for top ranking keywords, which prove the myth of more pagerank=more vists wrong.

Why Bing’s image search is superior to Google’s service : Feature by Feature

Bing has created a lot of hype in the Blogosphere. I am not adding to it’s hype but i am just highlighting one simple feature which while give you a reason to make a shift from Google to Bing.

Bing Image Search

Google’s image search is one of the most famous and oldest image search engines. But now Microsoft’s Bing come’s to Wack off Google search with it’s superior features.

Bing Provides users to select image size including wallpapers
which Google does not provide. Along with that Bing also provides users to select the type of layout like Square, wide or tall which seems to be missing in Google.

Now coming to other features it’s the Style Tab where users can select wether they want a Photograph or a Illustration This features a very useful one for students!

And last one is The People tab where you can select if Bing should show Faces, or head and shoulders. Now Google Really needs to work on it’s Image search to provide more features or else Bing is going to take it away!

Google Squared is live! Is this the End of Wolfram|Alpha?

Google, Today released one of the most powerful search tool ever – Google Squared. Google squared is a search tool where You type your query and get results in form of tables and spreadsheets which contains very valuable information like special characteristics along with images of the objects!

Google Squared is a valuable tool for Students as Students don’t need to waste much time finding bit’s of information because Google Square does it for them. For Eg., You type Us presidents You will get a list of them with their images, Their birth date and Also who succeeded them. Google also shows the source of information along with every piece of data shown and Wikipedia is most frequently found as the source.

Not just that but you can even add columns and tabs to the information to customize it yourself. So if you do a search for laptops and then you can compare every computer feature by feature and add models which you want to the square. This tool may be the Wolfram|Alpha killer which was recently launched.

Microsoft Gears up to kick off Google with Bing!

Recently we had posted about Microsoft planning for a 100 million dollar campaign for it’s brand new search engine, Bing.

Bing, as it’s name says – “Because It’s Not Google”. Bing comes geared up with features which Google was not able to provide users with. In one of the Offer’s Microsoft will pay it’s searchers for buying products via Bing. Another great feature is the Airline fare calculator which make’s it easy for people to find when the air fares will remain low.

Bing, has given a reason to all the Googler’s why they should shift to Bing and it’s Simplicity. Bing is a search engine which provide very organized search results.

Telling you we found 47 million links isn’t always a great response to your query

Bing will get more targeted results for users and help them save time and along with that they will be able to gain much more than just information but knowledge too via Maps and many other interactive modes. For People who shop online Bing will be the best place to look out for goods because Bing will provide searchers with complete products reviews, Ratings and will help you compare prices easily.

For Restaurant goers, Bing is for you. Just type type of restaurant, for example “French Restaurants”, Bing will quickly give you the location, reviews of the restaurants and so on.

Why do people use Google?

Ever wondered Google, one of the (#1 according on alexa) best search engines is used for what purposes? Actually i also had the same question and after reading a post i finally got an answer. Actually people who come on Google to find info (to be true, useful info) are only about or maybe even less than 7% of the Total Googlers.

So for what is Google used for? More than 60% of total Googlers use it For Spell Check!

You love using your Ipods, especially using the Cover Flow to easily find out your songs. But what can you say when this comes to your Browser!

If like searching one Google you will love this search engine. Searchme.com , i think so may become a Problem for Google in Future Because of it’s awesome search interface. Yes. I bet you make it your homepage as soon as you use it. The reason behind this is that we can actually see the complete homepage before we click on it. And this also applies with Images and Videos too. The best part id that you can even use it on your Iphone! So now search the internet just how you search your Music!

While Google has tried to add many features to it’s search engine and Universal Search makes search even more simpler. When Google was trying to add more features to Google they always wanted to make more information available on search page.

Universal Search gives you much better user experience by giving video results, books, maps and others all together.

Create dynamic search engines better than original Google using Google itself!

I know you are tired of the same old google , right?
This one will help you make your own like that, not just the same old one but with many other features which Google does not have but is allowing you to make!

If you are A photographer create your own image search engine , customizing it to make it fit your needs or if you are a tourist then make a local search engine to find places you want or any thing. Confusing right? I’ll make it simpler.

Google’s Custom Search Engine provides you simple old search engine design, but this time you can edit it and make it look like something quite good and useful, to fit your needs.

Have a look at this search engine – i found it, edited it and made it quite useful. Find it at search.etiole.com

Actually i just copied the code from an example and then edited some attributed like those tabs, which one to include but here i added some more tabs. We can also limit those search results to a number on a certain page, arrange those tabs and lots more.

It is developed using Ajax script. It’s not just searching web pages for text, but images, videos, and other stuff like books and even maps.

For newbies they also have a wizard where they will generate the code for you , according to your specifications and then you need to copy paste it! Check it out here

Yes , I am not joking! Cuil , The worlds largest search engine!
It searches 121,617,892,992 webpages which is nearly the the thrice than what google searches!
Finally google’s got a tough competition. The interface of the website is outstanding.
It is way better than google.
It has got better features like the “Drill down” – After you perform a search, you may see a panel on the right-hand side that says “Explore By Category” with a list of subjects related to your search.
This search engine is developed by ex-google engineers. The best thing is that other search engines, Cuil ranks results by the content on each page, not its popularity.
So there are chances that you may get the correct content you are searching for .
After all the investors have spent 5 million dollars on the search engine.
