YouTube Video viewed more than 150 million times, Artist earns $16

The co-author of the song “Never Gonna Give You Up,” which was a complete hit no YouTube with over 150 Million views has just earned about $16, a price for which he can buy his own Cd once. This might be funny for you but he thinks that Google has Exploited him.

I feel like one of those workers, because I earned less for a year’s work off Google or YouTube than they did off the Bahrain government – He told to a newspaper firm.

This is not the first time it has happened but many U.K artists have also criticized Google for not compensating them well.

A YouTube spokesperson said

We absolutely believe that artists should be compensated fairly, But how much the artist gets paid is between the artist and the label

What the hell is YouTube Doing? : Trying to kill itself?

As many of you might have heard that YouTube will be going throught a redesign which will Change YouTube completely.

YouTube runs at a Bandwidth cost of like 1 Million Dollars per day and every year it only brings a revenuw of only 200 Million Dollars. So now Calculate the Profit, ahh, sorry the loss.

365 Million Dollars – 200 Million Dollars = 165 Million Dollar Loss

So inorder to cover these losses Google will now make YouTube more like Hulu and will Display Content From premium Partners like Disney and therefore it will Put back the User Generated Content for what YouTube was actually meant for. All the User Generated Videos will go into a small Tab called Videos while the premium Partners will take the SpotLight.

Common no one would like to see the same T.V shows you saw earlier but some more unpopular and interesting videos by other Users

This thought is of a YouTube user and i think i completely Agree with his point. The original Reactions will be coming in Soon from the users after April 16th when the Design Goes live.

YouTube to now make seperate sections – News, Movies and Music

It’s very hard for Youtube lovers to segregate different Videos of interest like some visit youtube for videos about news while some for music. But in about a week it will all be simple.

YouTube is going to launch separate pages for it’s Videos. The News and The music Sections Are few of these. Others are the movies section. The News videos are going to be supported by Google News.

After All Google’s aim is to make life easy.

Youtube to show ads on search pages to increase revenue

Youtube , the best video sharing website was recently acquired by Google for a sum of $1.65 billion but We don’t think Google is generating enough revenue to actually cover it up.

Recently it’s deal with MGM to show full ads has introduced a new way of generating revenue, by showing inlay ads in full length videos.

“I personally do not believe that the perfect ad product for YouTube has been invented yet,” Eric Schmidt, Google’s chief executive, said in a conference call with analysts in July.

Youtube has been acquiring the most bandwidth if Google so Google Finally had to do something to cover up and make some good money so it will start showing ads on search pages for video searches done at youtube’s website. It will be just like the sponsored listings you get when you search at Google.

Recently a survey by a company revealed that Youtube received a record-breaking 5 billion video views this July. Most of the videos watched were short videos. But Youtube further said that the users were more comfortable watching longer videos. Hulu , another video sharing site which broad casted T.V shows online only received 100 million views which is a very low amount if compared to Youtube.

Google, the company behind Youtube , was trying hard to increase the revenue generated by Youtube , as they never wanted to show ads during small videos because they were scared as this would reduce user views because if there is a 45 second video and there is a 15 second ad who will see it?

But now when there will be long videos Google is willing to put ads in it , One person from the company said that they will try to show content related advertisements so as to maintain it’s supremacy over all advertising networks.

One spoke person for youtube said that for short videos the company is “very much committed” to in-video overlays. The overlays resemble the banner advertisements that sometimes appear on the bottom of videos. In it’s deal with CBS , they said that the company will be selling it’s own ad inventory and the revenue will be shared between both the companies.

Shows like “Dexter,” “Beverly Hills, 90210”,“Star Trek” , “MacGyver” and “Californication,” will be available soon.
