Tech Paparazzi : Steve Jobs and Eric Schimdt spotted together

Gizmodo, reported pictures of two of the most prominent people from worlds largest tech arsenals, Steve Jobs and Eric Schimdt seated together at Calafia in the Town and Country shopping center in Palo Alto. The Cafe where they were spotted is owned by ex-Google chef Charlie Ayers. Two lines overheard by the photographer,

They're going to see it all eventually so who cares how they get it

He alsoclaimed that these talks revolved around web content. This could possibly have some relation with the recent news of Apple's route into the Mobile Advertising Business, but then both come from companies [Steve - Apple CEO and Eric - Google CEO] who's relations have been deteriorating abominably so what could be the core matter of the talk? Folks at Gizmodo did a complete analysis of their body posture (wow, you seriously need that?) and it finally lands onto the fact that, Eric Schimdt is scared of Steve Jobs!

Google Voice for iPhone has finally arrived [with hack] : F*** you App Store

Remember those days? Apple Vs. Google? Google submitted the Google Voice app for review to Apple's app store and then it just got rejected. Things got worse and Apple was blamed for going along with AT&T's decision of not accepting the app. FCC (Federal Communications Commission) looked into the matter and asked all the three parties to answer it's questions. Things got even more worse and Google's CEO, Eric Schimdt left Apple as a board of director. Then we smashed in the news that it was coming to iPhone with a Web Interface. Bang! Here it is! Just go to m.google.com/voice to access the mobile version of Google Voice from your iPhone.

Google Voice for iPhone has arrived with a web interface. It's designed using HTML5 which is responsible for most of the applications functionalities. There's one problem. It's in the browser Safari, Right? Want it as app on your SpringBoard? There is a simple trick that we used with Google Wave too, bring the app near the mail icon on my springboard! By the way, its not just iPhone, but Palm Web OS has also got Google Voice now! Google's Official Blog Post here.

Google Chrome OS : Your Data is now on Clouds!

Google Had announced that it would be releasing a OS version of it's browser Chrome in July. The Press event yesterday gave us a lot of more information as to what was going on, what were the key features and so on.

Key Features

Clouds

With Clouds i don't mean actual clouds, but these are where all your data on Google Chrome OS Data will be stored. Well, nothing is on your computer so you can surely expect better speed and also the data is easily accessible from all of your devices so that you do not need to Shift it from one device to another.

Speed

Chrome was the fastest browser and one of the reasons why it was so because of it's fastest loading Javascript Load Engine. You can expect the same thing from the Chrome OS which currently takes 7 seconds to start up and this is also going to be reduced as the development further progresses. Your Desktop Environment is also going to speed up because all of it apps are going to be web apps so compared to existing computers, it is damn fast, you get it?

All Things Web

Chrome OS would mark the beginning of the new era, the web era where all your content is on the web. You don't need to start any Softwares or such to start working on your computer. Everything is just web. All applications are web apps so you don't need to install or update them as so. The Ultimate User Experience

The Graphical User Interface is going to be the same as the chrome browser, the easiest to use but the capabilites just increase 10 fold. Games, Videos everything can be done on the relatively simple interface.

Last Year Google Chrome was updated over twenty times without even letting their 40 Million Users know about it. How is that? Well, same is going to be in the Chrome OS where the updates will be on air updates. So users don't ever need to search for updates, download them and install it manually. Everything will be automagical.

Security

With Google Chrome OS new Security as all your data will be Encrypted and will be stored on the Cloud. So significantly all your Data Loss Risks and Data theft risks are reduced. No Antivirus needed!

Second, because all apps live within the browser, there are significant benefits to security. Unlike traditional operating systems, Chrome OS doesn’t trust the applications you run. Each app is contained within a security sandbox making it harder for malware and viruses to infect your computer. Furthermore, Chrome OS barely trusts itself. Open Source

This was much expected from Google who made Chrome OS an Open Source project and the source code is available here. Open Source Means you can expect more from developers world wide.

The Chrome OS is more concentrated on the NetBooks market because it wants to target the potential of that market which is growing speedily. The whole Chrome OS concept is completely opposite to what we use today.

Do you want to rule the Web? Go to any page and edit the Contents as per what you like? Re-Arrange any Website as per your wish? Delete of some useless images, and type in your content? Sounds nice. Well, one of the best Examples would be deleting those ads on Google Search Pages. I know, you hate them but since people do make money our of it, and that's how most services are brought to you we can't blame it exactly. Commenting System Disqus launches version 3

Yesterday, advanced commenting system Disqus announced the release of the Version 3 of its product. The biggest change is the separation of the Disqus system into Disqus Profiles and Disqus Comments. Disqus Profiles is intended for the people who comment on various sites using the Disqus system. Disqus Comments is intended for the publishers who install the system on their site/blog. The new version introduces many changes to the cohttp://www.etiole.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=1590mment system:

A new theme (named 'Narcissus'):

Real time updating. This means that the page doesn't have to be reloaded to show new comments. This is similar to JS-Kit Echo.
Faster Social Media Reactions. Reactions from other services such as Twitter, FriendFeed and Digg also show up on the page itself.
A new moderation panel which makes heavy use of AJAX and is simply awesome:

New filters and tools which provide advanced control.

However, what's really new is the Disqus Profile:

The profiles now have vanity URLs, i.e. public profiles can be accessed by going to disqus.com/'username'. For example mine is disqus.com/sjdvda.

The ability to import comments that were written when you were not logged into your Disqus account.

Orkut Finally Kicks out Internet Explorer : IE 6 You must Die!!

Well IE 6 is one of the most used browsers (atleast in India) and Orkut is one of the most used Social Networking websites in India. Now the Bad part. If your using Internet Explorer 6, you really need to change!

Google’s Orkut has dropped support for Browser Internet Explorer six following many other websites which have taken part in IE6 no more campaign.

Well personally i think it is necessary to kick it off because so many exploits have been found in Internet Explorer six and also Webmaster need to work really hard to optimize their website for internet explorer six (i know that because i have had great problems with that!)

It’s quite clear that Internet Explorer can’t run ahead with the technological developments like HTML 4, 5 and so on… So it’s time to say Good bye to your Internet Explorer 6!
