You can actually set a password on your personal file or folder with Folder Password Expert. I’ve used it since 2002. I do not know why this program was not mentioned in the article as it is quite possibly one of the most recommended applications of its kind.

I have created one and lock it and when i try to unlock it by mistake i have wrong spelling and when i tried again a new folder created so can i get my last locked folder.

other people can edit the .bat file and can change the password without u knowing

@Ben Lucier – Look this is just an alternative , if anyone is that intelligent to open the .bat file and seek out the password , you shall be more intelligent to use some other software to lock your files

i recommend using a.bat to .exe converter after you have made to the file to prevent people from editing your password.

It looks like all your script does is hide the folder. Not too mention, if somebody wants to know the password, they only have to open the locker.bat to see it.

Not a very good solution I'm afraid.
