Google’s new project, Sms channels has been released where you can subscribe to a channel and keep up with it’s updates on your mobile phone as sms text messages!
First you need to register your cellphone number (only Indian) than you can subscribe to as many channels you want like the “News channel” ,”Tech Channel” ,”Jokes” or anything you wish.
You can also, If you blog, then send your blog updates via sms to the subscriber by using it.

Best part of it is that you can even make your won channels. You can add updates from your blogger blog, or any feed item or you can even post your own items! Like always, it is a google product and so it is free!
If you have reltives living abroad they can connect with you very easily by sending Sms messages to you for free, only if you have a cellphone from India. Currently it is available only available for cellphones in India but Google also said that they are working on it to make it available internationally.
Unlike other subscription services google allows you to control them limit of sms’s you receive per day. It also shorten words like “for” to”4″ and “to” to “2” which helps it to be the unlike.
It has easy subscription features and easy ways to unsubscribe it. you can subscribe to any channel you want online or even by sending sms to google and you can even unsubscribe to it via the same method. The complete help section for it is here.
