Google announces account recovery via SMS option

Google has announced a new option for account recovery: Account Recovery via SMS. Via this option, users can get the recovery code for their account (to which access has been lost for some reason) through SMS. To utilize this option users are required to perform the following steps:

  1. Sign in to your Google account
  2. Select the Change Password Recovery Options
  3. Provide your mobile number and account password
  4. Click Save

Once done, now you will get your account recovery code via SMS in case you are unable to access your Google account for whatever reason.

Hi everyone, – uncovered this web page due to pure luck when searching round the web this afternoon, and happy that I did! I do like the style and design and tones, but I have to point out that I’m having problems when it loads. I’m using Shiira 2 browser for mac, and the side panel does not line up properly. i am confident I have used the equivalent layout on a customer’s site, but the menu seems O.k. on mine. I have an idea the mistake is at this end & I guess it’s about time to swap!
