FaceBooks New Inbox Coming soon to your account!

Frankly Speaking, FaceBook inbox sucks. Well i think FaceBook had heard this from plenty of users including me :) FaceBook has earlier annouced that it will release new FaceBook Inbox Feature and now it’s going live for some users!

Well in the earlier inbox one used to click on any link which would take us to a new window but now instead of this it’s overlay. They have also added the Threaded Conversations feature :) so you can easily track your conversations unlike the older facebook where u would have to spend time clicking links and reaching the last reply.

Then another addition is the Filter. Now you can easily sort out between your Read and unread messages. Well this seems like its going more towards the other biggies like Yahoo, Gmail, etc. Also now what you see on the home page after logging in, the news feed the Inbox more ever seems like that!

Well, i still don’t think it’s perfect as many additions have to be made but this is one step closer to perfection!

Tr.im to be handed over to the open source

Tr.im who has been in the headlines lately. Latest in this regard is that the Nimbu owned URL shortening service will be handed over to the open source community by September 15. The primary reason as far as I see is because it could not simply accept the bit.ly partnership with Twitter.

Tr.im realizing the fact that its user would be upset with them for the way they handled things since last week, apologized to its user base. They accecpted their mistake of handling the shutting down of Tr.im in hastiness. For a more detailed post see this link.

How to Shut Down your PC faster! : Tricks you need to know

My friends are very impatient. Once had my friend playing some games on my PC along with me. I just went out of the room to attend a call and i told my friend to shut down the PC before leaving. As soon as he Clicked Shut down and then waited for 30 seconds and switched the whole System off. Now you know, if you don’t properly shut down you PC thousands of problems can arise.
So i found out the Whole thing is that my ShutDown Speed is too low. So here’s what i did to increase it! Simply follow our 3 simple steps!
  • Go to >> start menu , then select run and type “regedit”regedit
  • then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System >CurrentControlSet > Control.
  • Look on the right and open waittokillapptimeout or waittokillservicetimeout (depends on which OS you are using) and in the values type 1000 (Which stands for 1 Sec) and press ok.
  • Now your pc will shutdown faster!

So actually what did we do? We simply changed the values of time taken to shut down in the Registry from a higher value to just 1 sec. So this will Accelerate your Shut Down Speed.

Would you spend $1000 for a Japanese Hand Made iPhone Case?

Japan is the leading country in Technology. Well its been long time since they have embraced iPhone. Recently the number of iPhones sold in Japan had crossed the 1 Million Mark. SoftBank Mobile’s company SoftBank BB recently launched HandMade iPhone Cases and each iPhone case is worth a whopping $1000 which is 5 times the price of iPhone!

Well for us it seems costly but the hard work put in designing each case is a supporting factor of the price. It’s a Ancient Japanese art by which the design is made.  Each cover is made of special lacquer and gold dust and also 4 weeks are required to make one cover!

Reviving the App Store : Phil Schiller trying to bring back those dead apps

Apple has gained lot’s of negative attention because of the App store. Lot’s of Buzz surrounding App store especially the rejection of the Google Voice App by the App store and then FCC looking in to matter. It’s been sorted out when Google has decided to release a web App for Google Voice.

Recently Lot’s of Top Developers of the App store and their applications were deleted from the App store. The Blogosphere reacted quickly to it, the Anger of the developers was clearly visible. Along with that people had Broke up with their iPhone including bloggers like Om Malik.

In this situation Apple Does need a superman, and so there is one. Phil Schiller, Apple’s very own WordlWide Marketing Vice President. It’s very surprising but yes, Phil is approaching developers personally to get their feedback.

Rising Card, one very cool magic application developed by theory 11, where the developers had worked really hard and sweat out their blood for their app. But then what? All their hopes were thrashed by Apple in just one mail, the rejection mail.

The developers said they had completely lost their hope, but then Phil came in touch with them and hopes began to rise again! Well here’s how they describe their experience, in a mail they sent to TechCrunch.

Schiller was unbelievably responsive throughout the whole ordeal. Our first communication from him was late at night on the 11th – with another email sent to us an hour later. He was extremely nice and although not promising anything, he said he would have their team look into the situation ASAP.

To be frank, Chris and I [the creators] were both amazed that this had reached the heights it had at all – given the fact that it is just a fun magic trick. We had spent months creating, polishing, and finishing this thing – and up until then we thought all hope was lost. It’s been quite the rollercoaster.

This morning, we received another email from Schiller advising us that Phil Shoemaker (Director of Application Technology) would be in touch with us soon to discuss our app, and as promised I received a phone call about three hours later from Phil. Shoemaker said that his team was looking into the issue as we spoke, and he was hopeful to see resolution of this by the end of the day.

True to his word – it was in fact approved late this afternoon. In sincerity the whole process was quite the ordeal, but I must say that I respect the hell out of the fact that we received the personal attention that we did. They were responsive, attentive, and truly listened to what we were saying. While one could argue that it took us over a month to get to that point, I would judge this situation based on the lengths they went to to fix the problem – they were incredible.

Obviously after this the Developers were very happy :) So Phil Schillers the man. Well here’s a post from Theory 11‘s blog where he is expressing his happiness!

iPod with Camera? : Coming towards reality?

Well, like may other rumors i thought that the iPod Getting camera, was just another rumour but untill i saw this. Recently while checking out Engadget I found this.

Well this Feature would definitely boost up the sales of iPods as this would be the First iPod to have a Camera and this will give it a Plus features against it’s upcoming rivals, Zune HD.

Also along with that, if it will have features like Video Recording just like those of iPhone 3GS. Anyways, check out few pics and a video right after the break.
