Secrets revealed : How people hack into your Email Id and how to prevent it

Random — By Monik on October 19, 2008 at 11:29 am

Everywhere there is a hype about a hacker , hacker and hacker, someone hacked into your mail account ,or someone hacked into your computer ,or someone cracked open your internet bank account , right?
But how is this possible? Learn it from a hacker and then prevent your self from being a victim.

Hacking A email – There a certain steps what a hacker does so that he can gain access to your email id.

1. He will get details about you , because he will want to know whose id he is hacking and will try to find you out on social networks. He will copy all your information out there and try to use “Forgot Password” Option so that he can get it opened without any hard work. If no , then there is a plan B.

2. He will First Create a clone page of the login Page , like suppose yahoo.com , he will create login form.

3 . Then he will send you a email which have a subject as “Yahoo : You Email Id is soon going to be deactivated” and then content will be complete rubbish , and will contain a link to the cloned page, like “Please Login here to make sure your account is Active”.

4. Now as soon as you click that link you are in their trap and then when you fill out the form , you are gone.

How To prevent it? Tips from a hacker -
- Never respond To such Mails as they will land you up in big problems.
- No Damn Email service will ask you to login again at any cost , by sending an email to you.
- Never put the matching information which you entered in case of a lost password on social networking website.
- Always be sure , which link you are clicking , is it outside the main url , (here: mail.yahoo.com)
- Check who is sending you the email , someone link support@yahoo.com or yahoosupport@yahoo.com or any other email id.

Special thanks to the Hacker (does not want to go Public)

I am using the yahoo mail. One of my friend could access to my mail without mre giving any info about my mail a/c. He stays in a different place but I used to send cc mails to his e-mail id which is also yahoo. Recently,he called me and inquiring about a mail content which I havenot disclosed to anybody. How it could be possible as he deneys accessing my a/c. I used to browse in public Internet Centres but everytime I use to change the password. Is it possible to access using password decoder or something like that software. He could easily find out my IP address as I regularly send him cc mails.
  • Hi Madhavraj,

Well You Problem seems quite common. I think, it was just your friends guesstimate about your mail content because its not that easy to crack into Email Accounts or else no one in the world would have "safe" passwords. Along with that Sending CC doesn't cause any problem. Relax Buddy, it was just a coincidence :)

Im at a complete loss as to how someone hacked into my two email accounts, both had good passwords, then forwarded information to my husbands email even though they didnt know I was married, let alone what his email address was! this is wierd, and why?? Ive no money, just a marriage on the rocks! now thanks to some nasty person. Any ideas?
  • bbk
Yes someone is trying to destroy my life too by sending emails to contacts who i seem friendly with and warning them about my so called many other relationships. I changed the passwords every but seem to do no good. This person doesnt forward emails to anyone but rather just email the person telling them to contact them back or to call the number of someone on my list.
  • I didnt understand your problem properly. But i can say that someone from your family might have played that prank! I feel very sorry for you :(

can any one tell me how can i hack someones email id.?
  • Please don't try it. It's a crime and you may be behind bars for it. But for info you can find hackers online who can do the work for you and charge heavy sums of money.
  • It is a Cyber crime and i don't think anyone one would want to be behind bars, but yes people can do it. But please... don't go for that.

    Thanks AGAIN Monik:)

Ok but this fake messenger sign-in or fake yahoo mail sign in -- those have to get into the computer by being sent in an email - right? And, if so, my biz partner would remember if she got an email that asked her to login, I guess. Or would this fake login just pop up and some how cover the real thing?

Sorry I am being a nag about this. I just really want to get this figured out and know if this guy lied or not.
  • monik
Yes there is a way by using a fake version of yahoo messenger made such that when you login the info goes to the hacker or even by making a fake yahoo login page and making you sign in it.

Thanks Monik for your reply. Another short question to help me see this clearly:

So, if the Yahoo password isn't something obvious, that someone could figure out by guessing the Yahoo mail security question, is there another way that someone could hack into another person's Yahoo mail from their computer without having to hack into the wifi?

I just want to make sure that we aren't blaming someone (with serious consequences for them) if someone else COULD be the hacker.

    Thanks again!
  • monik
Please do not believe. This is Complete fake thing. You can't access someone else's wifi and access other people's account because you need to have all those cookies on your computer too so relax. And also if this was true than those wifi's at Airports? Everyobne one hack each others id, right?

I'm an old woman who is totally ignorant of all things tech - but I am trying to find out if I should believe someone I think may be lying (I hope they are not)
    Here's the situation:

I have a biz relationship with a person who uses Yahoo mail. I sent them some emails that they never saw in their inbox -- then, for some reason they were looking in their sent mail and saw the emails -- they had been fwded to another person (who also has a Yahoo email account)

    2) so - no copies of original in in-box, no copies in trash -- only the fwds of these emails in their sent box

    3) person who the emails were forwarded to says he never received them

    4) here is the hard part -- person who said he never got the forwards has access to my biz partners Yahoo mail -- not the password, but she leaves it open without signing out when she closes her mail and he uses her computer

    5) Person who had these mails fwd'd to him swears he did not send - or recieve them

    6) we are trying to know if we should believe him or not AND

7)there is another person (who has reason to try to make problems between my biz partner and the guy who the fwds were sent to -- this other person is a geek

    8) my biz partner has wireless but password protected

9)This is the thought -- the geek enemy somehow, from outside of my biz partner's house, gets into their wireless, somehow accesses her yahoo mail remotely, then opens these emails, sends copies to the guy who he hates, deletes them from my biz partners email inbox - deletes them from trash - but leaves copies in her sent mail so she thinks it is her friend that is into her mail. Meanwhile, he also hacks into this friends' yahoo mail, deletes the emails that were forwarded there so that this guy LOOKS guilty but is innocent and doesnt even know he's been made to look like scum

    ---

ok so I realize that all things point to the friend who has access by using my biz partners computer when she does not sign out of her mail but just closes it - and he is trying to cover his tracks because he's been caught. BUT we Want to believe that the enemy did it.

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT HAVE PHYSICAL ACCESS TO A COMPUTER CAN HACK INTO YAHOO MAIL, OPEN AND FWD MAIL, DELETE IT FROM INBOX & EMPTY TRASH, HACK INTO ANOTHER YAHOO ACCOUNT REMOTELY, AND DELETE MAIL IN THAT INBOX? OR MAYBE, MAKE IT ONLY *LOOK* LIKE IT HAS BEEN FWD'D FROM THE FIRST ACCOUNT BUT NOT REALLY FWD'D?????

    --

Really would appreciate some help on this. We are going crazy trying to figure out if we should fire this guy or feel sorry for him because he is being framed by an enemy Thank!

You can and cannot. It depends how you use your email.

IF the hacker has changed your pass you are gone.

The email provider may help you only if you have the proof that shows that you are the owner of the email account.
